Weddings at Hobbit Hill,
Clitheroe

Clitheroe sits in the Ribble Valley, right in the middle of Lancashire wedding country - couples travel from across the North West to marry here.

Hobbit Hill sits above the River Ribble at Stonyhurst, a few minutes out of Clitheroe, in 150 acres of Ribble Valley countryside. Couples marry outside in the woodland ceremony area when the weather plays ball, and the wedding barn takes 130 for the wedding breakfast and 250 for the evening. The whole day happens in one place, with the valley as the backdrop, which is a big part of why Ribble Valley weddings here feel the way they do.

The rest of this page is what this room looks like when it's full and I'm in it. Picture yours.

V03 · this room, their words
A wedding at Hobbit Hill, Clitheroe
"The man!!! You ABSOLUTELY need to have him at your wedding. Factor him into your budget because our guests still can’t stop talking about how good he was. The wedding breakfast was going OFFFF and it was literally 3pm fully brought the vibes and set the tone for whole day it was insane" Jack & Leah | Hobbit Hill
V04 · your day
what I actually do

Your day at Hobbit Hill,
hosted start to finish

Set-up, early. I'm there two or three hours before your ceremony, setting everything up before anyone arrives.
Your drinks reception. I join it - mingling, chatting, getting to know your guests. Clocking the aunties and uncles.
The music intros. I get your bridal party lined up and introduce them into the room to music we've fitted together: bridesmaids, groomsmen, best man, then you two. Life in the room straight away.
The wedding breakfast - my main thing. Two performances during your dinner. It's the part of the day that sets me apart, and it's the atmosphere a wedding breakfast doesn't normally have.
Speeches and cake. Your speeches introduced properly, with a line for everyone, and the cake cut looked after. I take care of the whole daytime.
The turnaround. When your day turns into your evening, I pack up and I'm off - job done, room up.

Real weddings, this room, the place rocking. Yours next.

Jack & Leah’s wedding at Hobbit Hill

What a day for the new Mr and Mrs Hails - 100 guests ready to party from the very first note. Jack and Leah’s wedding at Hobbit Hill was a masterclass in how to throw a party, and we had the room completely locked in. As I always tell my couples: you bring the crowd, I’ll bring the vibe. And this lot understood the assignment. My favourite moment? Handing the mic to the barman. The crowd thought he was just pouring pints - turns out he’d spent years singing on cruise ships. An absolute showstopper. Huge shoutout to the team who made the day flow, especially Chumley Films and Daisy Bell Photography for capturing the chaos.

"It was honestly epic from start to finish and we can’t thank you enough. All of our guests have said how good you were and every part from start to finish was insane. Wish we could do that every weekend." Jack & Leah | Wedding

How do you stop a Hobbit Hill wedding reception going flat?

1. Plan the middle, not just the party. Between the ceremony and the evening there are about three hours. Dinner and speeches don't entertain themselves - decide who's carrying that time before you book anything else.

2. Make the entrances an event. The walk into your wedding breakfast sets the room's energy for the whole afternoon. It should build, not just happen.

3. Give the room something to do together. A room that sings together stays on its feet together. Collective beats spectator, every time.

There's a whole page of this: how to not have a boring wedding.

Reading the room

Some rooms arrive ready. Some need working, and warming, and a bit of patience. Nothing gets pushed on anyone - it unfolds naturally. Nobody gets singled out, nobody gets pressured - and the end of the night looks the same either way: everybody up, dancing, going nuts. The full story's on the main page.

Sometimes your guests will surprise you.

Straight answers

How long are you with us on the day?

I arrive two or three hours before your ceremony to set up, join your drinks reception, and run your whole daytime: intros, two sets during dinner, speeches, cake. When the day turns into the evening, I pack up and leave you to it.

Do you cover Clitheroe and the surrounding area?

Easily - I'm Lancashire born and based, and Hobbit Hill is a room I've already worked. Home ground.

What if our guests are shy?

Nobody gets singled out and nobody gets pressured. People join in without noticing they've joined in. And sometimes your guests will surprise you.
